Every year, Jewish Women International honors
extraordinary women whose achievements are inspiring change, and this year BBYO alumna and current Vice Chair of BBYO’s Board of Directors, Estee Portnoy, was named as one of its 10 Women to Watch.
Portnoy, who lives in Bethesda, MD, with her husband and three children, currently serves as Michael Jordan’s business manager. She began working for Michael Jordan thirteen years ago with no background in basketball, just a passion for sports and an instinct for marketing. She now runs all day-to-day operations of Michael Jordan, Inc.
In addition, Portnoy also sits on the board of three different organizations, including BBYO and KEEN USA, which she co-founded with her husband, which sponsors sports programs across the country for physically and mentally disabled children. For her ability to balance all of her responsibilities and passions, Estee credits the important leadership skills she learned with serving as a BBYO regional president growing up in New Castle, PA.
“For me, it all goes back to standing in front of 300 people and making speeches,” she said.
Her guidance and leadership within BBYO have been indispensable in guiding BBYO on its current path of success, growth and innovation. The entire BBYO family extends Estee a huge mazel tov!
